The Seven Rila Lakes

Presented in November ‘24 in Sofia, Bulgaria as a devised site-specific piece.

This project was the product of a collaboration during the Sofia Theatre in Palm Residency which was funded by Creative Europe and hosted by Oecon Group.

What happens when there is no water left? When our actions have lead to a destruction of the place we call home? What kind of relationship do we have with the earth?

Inspired by the story of ‘The Seven Rila Lakes,’ this piece was the product of our collaboration on the themes of climate change and shifting transitions.

It explored the relationship between humans and nature, personifying the sun and it’s anger with the people when they fail to respect its earth which causes the sun to destroy all in the form of drought.
